The book was so successful that LEIGH RAMMEL wrote a followup on each of the other solar system leaders. Probably the most notable persons described in this book were DONALD GARDEN, JERRY KAS- TER, GLENN LYCANS, MARY NOFFSINGER, JIM SUTTON and ED TIPPEL all ruling planets named after them. The space age became a reality. DELORIS RODDY and ALLAN ROSPO were designing modern homes which were ideal for living conditions on every planet. BILL PINKLEY and DQN SALZWIMMER had built the largest passenger rocket which pilot GARY YOUNG claimed to be the fastest also. MARGARET TOTH, RONALD WEGMILLER, KAREN SWAST, and ROBERT HARDY had advanced the study of science and math to an all time high. MARY KIRSCHNER, DAVID LIMER and TERRY WRAY were the three most outstanding doctors of the space era. Television was available on every planet due to the technical solutions of BOB SHEARER and JACK TOWNSEND. T. V. personalities were ROSEMARY ZUSCHAK and JOYCE MILLER-famous comediennes, MEG JOLES, PAT GAY and WILLIAM KNECT-singing stars, and GEORGE KITCHEN and MERRIAM JONES-dramatic performers. Programs were based on space themes. A few of the most popular ones were Have Rocket, Will Travel, starring MARTY HOFLE, 77 Milky Way, with ROBERT HILL and BOB WILLIAM- SON, The Star Ranger, with DEANNA WILLENER, Space Cruiser with DONALD DOUGLAS and Life With Venus, starring DARLENE BROWN. A few of the specials included A Night With DOROTHY BRIM- HALL, PAT FISHER Presentsf' To Earth and Back starring ALBERT GOLDSMITH and THE JUANITA LOVELACE Show. Newspapers were not as numerous on the planets as they had been on earth. The Planeteer edited by PAT JOHNSTON and The Sun edited by MARIE FOYS had the largest circulation. Food was taken mostly in cap- sule form but FRANK SMITH'S Space Club still served old - fashioned steak and chicken dinners. Easter and Christmas- became planet wide Holidays, and each year JOBIE SMITH portrayed the Easter rabbit while PAUI. PECK played Santa Claus. The new musical sounds were weird chants and high whistles usually done by female vocal groups. The most famous of these groups, the Rockettes, was composed of ANITA RUSSEL, BEVERLY MARSHALL, CHERIE MCCUNE, VIVIAN PARDUE and BETTY RIEMENSCHNEIDER, led by CAROL RUGGLES. After JIM ROSENBERGER had discovered a way of growing earth plant life on the majority of the planets, familiar earth flowers appeared everywhere. CATHERINE SPAHR and RITA WIGINGTON had the loveliest gardens and large groups of tourists came to see them each year. MARGARET WETZEL, BARBARA ALEX- ANDER, NETTIE BALTIC, BONNIE EDWARDS, ELAINE HUMPHREY, and BILLIE BROWN were hoe- ing the gardens last summer. As 1969 drew near to an end Five solar systems had been colonized, and a total of 50 planets had inhabitants originally from earth. MARY CHIRICH and JANET SPENCER took a census and KAREN SMOLE compiled a 1969 Almanac with the information. VIRGINIA TOSI and DONNA TIMMS became interested in planet civilization before the colonization and with the help of DONALD HOSIER plan their findings in book form. Only a few stragglers have remained on earth. Among those remaining are forest ranger who prefers the wilds of Canada to those of Mars, DAVID AUSTIN a BARTELL successor to Grandma Moses, MARY ANN CARLISLE, PAT WAT JONES nurses in the largest hospital in the U. S.g ELLEN JOSEPH a movie star, KITTIE HOCK- ENBERRY, author BARBARA HOLLER, and writers LINDA KIRKBRIDE, and JANE REAGAN. Active in their respective Churches are JUDITH JONES, ELAINE HAYES. SALLY MACE and her assistant JUDY ROBERTSON are doing the direc- tion of MARY PAMER. LOIS ROBERTS has attained her goal as a certified accountant, with PARKS and LAURA RICHARDS. WILLIE PORTWOOD has complete control she plan to sell to JIM MYERS. ANN MYERS has attained seven college IS consideri giving her a MRS. degree. LOUISE PARKS is the present U. S. President PRISCILLA McCOMBS. A few of the stragglers are spending a year in LENE SIMON, NORMA SUMNER, and JEAN their guide. Last but not least of the earthlings who wives and husbands. This group includes LING, NANCY MIDDLETON, R XL- CHARLOTTE COUP, ELIZABETH DURBIN, BOB and These are the members of the class of 1960 which graduated from K. H. S. records on earth. Maybe ten years from now there will be no one left to keep happen, I'll have to leave now, my rocket is here. Yoursi pl ce, Diane ' I.'- yer 'I'I
