'l -ff' X lb I5 A An Analyszs o MURKY MEMOIRS OF 49 A Play in Three Acts Produced by' Kenmore High School s Class of 49 Dzrected by Its Teachers ACT I A Settzng 1 Tlme The year 1946 2 Place 33 Htghland Parkway Kenmore New York B Plot Not only murky but also somewhat confustng was Act One WW ,va-Aff both 1ts plot and characters The actors weren t they called sopho mores7 wandered atmlessly about a maze of corrtdors constructed on the new and dlfferent stage They declded to play follow the leader and chose Karl Kraus Mar1anne Aber Dave Whlte and Barb Lew1s to march tn front In the th1rd scene entltled November the play merely began to take shape It seemed 11ke a page from Th1s Is the Army as another confused actor ex Captaln Sarge Mlller took over as adv1ser of the befuddled group Very l1ttle color was evtdent throughout but we must credtt the group wlth one endeavor The Soph Hop After thls the players passed 1nto an 1nterm1ss1on of swrmmlng and tennxs and grow1ng up ACT II A Settzng The same one September une later B Plot And they dld Qgrow up that IS I should say most of them we gif' fx 5 although I came across an old program wlth the followtng wrltten on the back baby bonnet dlaper tee Shlft rattle short pants hlgh socks kntckers suspenders hmmm Ah yes Ann Babcock nearly d1dn t part with her baby days 10 t1me for the finale of the unlor Show And what a scene that was' By th1s t1me Barb Dave and Marxanne had taken over leadershlp w1th Harry Kraus and Harry was a rlotous M C as they called upon vaudeville for a scene theme It was the first t1me they could really say Everybody wants to get 1nto the act Why some of the boys even resorted to weartng fem1n1ne clothes 10 a Fashlon Show Those junlors' To the tune of some ratsed eyebrows they mstxgated thelr one and only slop hop Dungarees were consldered hlgh fashxon and nobody was extrava gant enough to wear shoes strlctly on the corny s1de and the the cornxer the better was the order for the ntght It certalnly was a contrast to the very successful ntght of ntghts The unxor Prom at WhlCh Carolyn Martln became ueen and Paul Clark Klng So leavxng the JUHIOIS floattng on a cloud subltme the curtam fell on Act II I6 xx!!-.da-,,,u w .
