The Kenmore Teachers AssociaTion has had an especially acTive year wiTh a member oT The K.l-l.S. TaculTy. Mrs. GerTrude M. ChiTTenden, as presidenT. In addiTion To The regular TaculTy meeTings and special deparTmenTal discussions, many members oT The TaculTy parTicipaTed in The naTional war eTforT by noT only Talcing useTul courses, buT in some cases Teaching Them. Dr. RoberT W. WalTon, medical supervisor, TaughT TirsT aid classes, while Mr. Carl Baisch, Mr. Theodore Siekmann, and Mr. Roland Gladieux TaughT science classes in civilian deTense. In cooperaTion wiTh deTense work, Mr. Russell BenTz, Mr. George Dobson, and Mr. Carl Baisch TaughT vocaTional classes in The naTional program OT which Mr. Lynn Nichols is The head. The women Teachers have also been acTive. Miss EdiTh BriTTon, Miss Virginia Carey, and Miss Mollie Jones Tool: The Red Cross MoTor Corps Course which noT only Trained Them To drive ambulances, buT also TaughT Them To Take care oT The mechanical parTs OT The auTomobile. More Than sevenTy-Tive per cenT oT The TaculTy Tool: The Ten-weelcs' Red Cross course. The Teachers were insTrucTed in bandaging, arTiTicial respiraTion, and general TirsT aid TreaTmenT.
