Carnival receipts this year, announced by MT..Johnaon,.were 8715, Approximately S350 of that' amount 'went in to expenses. A good crowd attended throughout the evening. ' Our king and queen candidates of 1943 were Inez Knutson and 1 Adolph Johnson of the Senior Class,Caro1 Harris and Bill Stevens ofthe Junior Class, Ilene Lindquist and LeRoy Graveson of the Sophmore Class and Helen Odland and Rodney Caufield of the Freshman Class. - A The Freshman won the honors, The KingwRodnoy Canfield and 'Tho QueonbHelen Odland. The judging was done by the public, and was a race throughout with the seniors behind by a narrow margin. The grades gave an interesting minstrel show which was direotedby Miss Temanson and Miss Helen Johnson. l ' All the children were dressed as negroes in high black hats with dancing jokes and songs., Colleen Costello was one of the main ohara. etersg-Ross Halliday was Lazy Bones, Sally Mc Bride was Pinky,Harlan Geiger as Interloculor. Kenneth Nordling, John Purdy,' lhrlusf Simmons James Geiger and Louis Jorgensen were also leading characters. A speed ialty number of tap dancing was given by Helen Schaffer and June Stannard. There were 118 children that took part in the minstrel shew, The Patriotic Pagenant of WUnele Sam in Reviewniwns put on by the Junior High with appropriet music.
