CHORUSC C G ,,- .......f- ...S Vtl.i1i? ...Chc,:'al groups are another important activity of Kay Hi. They incJ.11deilQ5L:Ced Chorus, Beginners Chorus, Trio, Triple Trio, Boys Quart- etto, i'1liiedQfQuartette and Sextette. The combined chorus will appear in a series of selections at the Commencement Program which includes The American Prayer , Go Down MosesQ Land of Hope and Glory and 'Night and Day . Daring April the Mixed Chorus made trips tc various local Protest ant Churchee.They attended the Lutheran,Methodist and Baptist Churches. At these services they sang 'Softly New The Light of Day , A Mighty Fortress , The Lost Chord and The American Prayer . The Beginners Chorus meets on Monday and Wednesday and they are the students who have had no previous training inthe mixedchorus. When these studeris have rpceived a year of training in this chorus theyare brought inte the Mixed Chorus. This group will appear with the Mixed Chorus at Graduation. Sarah Krenellea, Helen Odland and Barbara Preston make up our trio They have been outstanding this year and have made many appearances in school activities. During the year, they went to Minot where they sang over the radio, at the college, Rotary Club and also made records. The Triple Trio made their appearance with the Band at the Gradu- ation and Tournament. They sang popular and classical numbers for en- tertainment. The members are Zella Christensen, Leila Rehn, Carol Nelson, Sarah Krenelka, Jean Engel, Helen Odland, Barbara Prestonjidele Hansen and Inez Knutson. The Boys Quartette includes Kenneth Hansen, Bill Taylor, John Ode land and Dean Anderson. They will appear at Graduation and At Class Night. Sarah Krenelka, Barbara Preston, Kenneth Hansen and John Od- land make up the Mixed Quartette which will also sing at Graduation. The Sexteete made their appearances at the floor show at Prom on May 5th and it includes the following: Leila Rehn, Carol Nelson, Zella Christensen, Sarah Krenelka, Adele Hansen, and Inez Knutson. The Aceompaniest for the chorus is Le Otis Vaaler. ' A Yu! .Li 5 .51-gr'4-'STL' is one of our outstanding activities. Five new members were added at the beginning ofa this year which brought our band membership up to forty-one. They were Lorraine Jesson Clarinet, James Hersen,Drum, Harvey Nelson and Chester Folkert Cornets and James Carlson, Trombone. Our band,'agein being the official tournament band, opened the tournament with a patriotic drill. But that wasn't the end, they enter tained between games and the halves and presented on Saturday evening a Victory drill with the Chorus assisting. The band has played at football games, basketball games,track meet assembly programs, the Carnival and the Junior and Senior Class Plays. This year fifteen will leave the band after graduation, but there will be a slight decrease when members of the Junior Band are admitted to Senior Band. The Junior Bend meets on Tuesday and Thursday and has sectional practice on the morning of the week. There are n group who have started band this year or have had one year of previous training. The Annual Spring Concert was presented on May 7th and both Junior and Senior Binds appeared.
