M.A.T.lHJ The main goal of the National Honorary Mathematics Society was to promote interest and scholarship in math. The 1979-80 Mu Alpha Theta year began with a bang! The Induction was held on November 8 with a new total of 24 members. The club has sponsored the Freshman Math Contest and participated in State and Local Mathematics Contests. Steelers Our Metals Club offered additional time for students to acquire skills of different machines and equipment. The Metals Club participated in VICA Skill Olympics and competitive skills against other high school trade clubs in the city, region, state and nation. In 1978-79, Steve Deihl placed second in Machine Shop Competition in the city trials. Now with two years' experience, the Metals Club anticipated a higher position in competition. How much was that? Dot By Dot In addition to drawing, the K.H.S. Art Club completed the impor- tant job of restoring the Cherokee Indian that stands in the lobby. They also ren- dered their talents to other needed areas. During the year the club participated in a Goodwill program for Senior citizens which included a party at the Muscogee Manor.
