Steelers Our Metals Club offered additional time for students to acquire skills of different machines and equipment. The Metals Club participated in VICA Skill Olympics and competitive skills against other high school trade clubs in the city, region, state and nation. In 1978-79, Steve Deihl placed second in Machine Shop Competition in the city trials. Now with two years' experience, the Metals Club anticipated a higher position in competition. Graphic Arts Graphic Arts combined printing, photography, drawing, engraving and screen printing. Among the products sold, buttons were very successful. Other items were note pads with the Cherokee emblem. A long range project included screen-printed T-shirts. Graphic Arts participated in VICA Olympics, anticipating the breaking of their last year's position of 542 in the state. M.A.T.lHJ The main goal of the National Honorary Mathematics Society was to promote interest and scholarship in math. The 1979-80 Mu Alpha Theta year began with a bang!
