English Electronics Coach Dowdell began work at Kendrick in the fall of 1970. He chose the profession of coaching because he wanted to work with football. Coach Dowdell comments that we have good students at Kendrick. The teachers are also easy to work with and we have a good athletic program. These are the things I like about Kendrick. 134 Faculty

University of Georgia, Louisiana Tech University, Biology Driver Ed A.B.l., M.E.D., B.S., M.S. English Physiology Ms. Ward has taught in Kendrick's English Department for the past eight years. As an English IV instructor, she works everyday with five Senior classes. Concerning her experience, Ms. Ward comments not much has changed except the students' dress. Students dress much better than they did about three years ago. We don't seem to have as much pot at school as we did. I think we are better than ever! Also, there has been a change in that Kendrick is now competing and winning in areas other than athletics. For example we have won in the Page-one competition, speech contest and various kinds of music contests. Ms. Ward adds, I enjoy working with young people and attempting to make them feel better about themselves by giving them some of the knowledge and wisdom I have managed to obtain through the years. 1 .. Government Since 1971 Ms. Ford has observed Kendrick students and the many changes that have occurred. The following suggestions are from Ms. Ford to the students and parents in school and at home. Students should bring a book or reading material home from school daily, devote at least one hour daily to homework or reading, complete homework each night, limit T.V. to 1 1f2 hours daily and maintain good healthy habits by eating a balanced diet, exercise and get 8 hours sleep. Ms. Ford adds, Parents should discuss each day's school happening with your child also, watch for opportunities to praise your child, get to know your child's teacher, limit T.V. and read to preschoolers and primary children fifteen minutes daily.
