The second sport was volleyball, which was fol- lowed by basketball. The activities during the second semester consisted of basketball, table tennis, and badminton. During the first few weeks the G. A. A.'s were becoming acquainted with their new sponsor, Miss Norma Barth. The Kendallville girls were invited to a playday at Auburn on November 20. Their spirit was good, but their luck was bad, lor they came home having been defeated by teams from Auburn, Garrett, and New Haven. All of the girls enjoyed the day in spite of losing all their games. They were invited to a sports day at New Haven on December +I. The girls did much better this time and they were able to bring home some awards. The G. A. A. planned a softball playday in the spring, inviting four or five different schools to participate in this event. In the beginning of the year the girls began thinking of the awards they could earn during the year. At mid-term the girls who already had earned pins were Bonnie Bodenhaler, Marjorie Forker, Bonnie Bid- dle, and Connie Rhodes. These girls also had their class numerals. Bonnie Bodenhaler and Marjorie Forker were awarded their G. A. A. K's and they also went to Purdue where they were pre- sented with the state G. A. A. plaque. These awards are shown at the right. Other G. A. A. members hope to receive some ol these awards belore the end ol' the school year. The bottom picture shows a covered bridge at North Manchester, where the G. A. A. attended a playday at Manchester College last year. NOBLE COUNTY LOAN AND SAVINGS ASSOCIATION
