This year the Kendall Varsity Wrestling Team placed second in their division. At the end of the season they were also second in the Genesee Region League . Their overall record was the best ever with twelve wins and four losses. The league record for the year was seven wins two losses to Lyndonville and Byron-Bergen. Next year, with added experience, the wrestlers hope to defeat these two teams. On February 23, ten Kendall wres- tlers were qualified to participate in the County Wrestling Tournament held in Lyndonville. Kendall ended with four wrestlers in the finals. After their last match they placed as follows: Shane Graham, Ron Graham, and Tom Hennekey captured first'sg Andy Keyser took a second: Hank Conradt placed thirdg and Jerry Kruger and Mike Gray took fourth. The results of these wins was a team score of 65 1! 2 points, which was beaten only by Lyndonville . Congratulations are extended to the entire team for their effort all year long. ,J 'Ymx his W Ax. ,S On March 1, our four finalists were sent to the Section 5 Tournament at Alexander. Although they all seemed to wrestle well none could win in the preliminaries. Their over-all record was the best ever with six wins and ten loses. This has been the most successful year yet for the J . V . team . One of the outstanding matches of the year was a victory over a tough Lydonville team 80-9 . On February 9, nine Kendall wrestlers traveled to Pembroke for the Junior Varsity Counties. After a very Successful day for Kendall we had seven wrestlers who placed. SCOREKEEPERS Tom Harper Ira Fair Wendy Austin 10-5-1 2-9 Wendy Graham 138 Pounds Manager Peggy Hennekey Paul Wais Jim Keyes 4-6 119 Pounds JV Wwsfffue Gary Zinsmeister and Wayne Pruner took fourth places at the 98 and 145 lb. weight classes. Greg Flint took third in the 105 lb. weight class. Tim Graham and Tom Harper won their first two matches to be placed second in the 167 and 132 lb. weight classes. Then Fred Williams and Lon Smith won all three of their matches and were Champions in the 126 and HVT . Classes. After the points were tataled Kendall also finished in second place at the tournament. rt' nw' 7
