The members attended a Horticultural Show where they participated in an apple-judging contest. Eugene Spangenburg won 3rd prize there in a demonstration contest. In January, the boys traveled to Barker for the annual Niagara-Orleans contest. There they participated in iuolging dairy cows, chickens, and vegetables. There was also a welding contest. A basketball game was held vs. the Barker F.F.A. Which the Kendall team won. The F.F.A. team, incidentally, was undefeated throughout the basketball season. 40

CLUB ACTIVITIES The Future Nurses Club is an organization which provides the School Nurse with student help wherever and whenever possible. The members are interested in nursing in some man- ner-some plan to enter nursing as a career, others plan to enter some work connected with nursing. By Working in the club everyone has an opportunity to learn more about nursing as a career and serve the school at the same time. This year tvvo of our members, Carol Klafehn and Linda Kennedy, worked as Nurses Aids in a local hospital. Candi Wolf attended the Highland Hospital Open House. pur main proiect, in which the vvhole club participated, was the collec- tion of money in the Kendall area for the Heart Fund. NATIONAL HONOR socusrv vs L4 The National Honor Society meets once a month with our advisor Mr. Sanger. Our purpose is to foster scholarship in our own lives and in the student body. Members are chosen by the faculty on the basis of scholar- ship, service, leadership and character. New members are inducted each spring at a dinner meeting of the society. Students with an 85 average are accepted in a one year probation- ary period. If the scholarship level is main- tained they may become permanent mem- bers.
