We have doubled our membership this year over last year. lt is our purpose to encourage those high school students interested in teaching to loin our club so they may gather information about teaching as a profession. To this end the club attended a Kendall Teachers Associa- tion meeting in January. For social entertainment we held a Christmas Party and a spring picnic. Our plan to sponsor an assembly with an exchange student from Germany was thwart- ed by the big winter storm. We did however visit Brockport College where we learned many new facts about college entrance requirements. CLUB ACTIVITIES The Future Nurses Club is an organization which provides the School Nurse with student help wherever and whenever possible. The members are interested in nursing in some man- ner-some plan to enter nursing as a career, others plan to enter some work connected with nursing. By Working in the club everyone has an opportunity to learn more about nursing as a career and serve the school at the same time. This year tvvo of our members, Carol Klafehn and Linda Kennedy, worked as Nurses Aids in a local hospital. Candi Wolf attended the Highland Hospital Open House. pur main proiect, in which the vvhole club participated, was the collec- tion of money in the Kendall area for the Heart Fund. The Library Club members assist the librarian and aid in making library facilities accessible to the students. They work at the desk charging books and filing cards. They put books away and do other tasks that are necessary to a well-functioning library. The members work on a regular schedule during tree periods. This year there are T5 members in the Club. The new Elementary Library was opened in November ot this year. It serves the children from kindergarten thru 6 grade, and is located in the elementary section of the school. Mrs. Elizabeth Hall is the library aid in the Elementary Library. Mrs. Rose DellaCosta is the High School aid.
