Smith PRESS CLUB All the news tlmt's fit to print Adolph Ochs The Press Club, the eldest of Kendall Central School's extra-curricular groups, was organized in 1938, and next year the club will celebrate the twentieth birthday of the Hi-Lights. During the years from infancy to adulthood many changes have taken place not only in the form but also in the special features to be found in our school newspaper. Some of the more recent innovations are the Crapevine, the reprinting of old features, puzzles, and art work. Last year the Press Club received the Times-Union. - Democrat and Chronicle award for the most outstanding school publication in the greater Rochester area. ' During the year the club published six editions of the Hi-Lights. Each issue sells for five cent a copy, and the money realized is used to purchase supplies for future editions. Throughout this school year Patricia Seaman was Chief Editor, Iames Rayburn, Assistant Editor. They were assisted in the publication of the Hi-Lights by an able staff: Nancy Hawthorne - Make-up Editorg Judy Iurhs - Typing Editorg Sheryl Preston - Exchange Editor, Betty Bolton - Art Editorg and Lawrence Ioba - Production Editor. Violet Williams was treasurer, and Dolores Dusett was in charge of sales. The cluh was advised by Miss Reta Dolan and Miss Irene Eldred.

During the soccer season the club sold refreshments at the home games, and just prior to Christmas the club sold mints and peanut brittlet Both activities proved to be financially profitable enterprises and were aimed at 'achieving the basic purpose of the club - to promote competent and progressive business leadership. In April the club concluded the activities of the year with a field trip to the Rochester Business Institute. Here they took a tour of the school. This proved very interesting to these business majors, many of whom plan to attend the Institute after they graduate from Kendall Central School. This year the activities of the club were directed by Penelope Craupman - President, Ruth Swanger - Vice-President, Iucly Iurhs - Secretary, Beverly Lav- ender - Treasurer, and Miss Irene Eldred - Faculty Advisor.-
