But er COMMERCIAL CLUB The Commercial Club this year sold refreshments at the home soccer games, sold basketball pins, and sweatshirts. The club continued the project started last year of sending a CARE package to Korea. The funds raised were also used to finance a field trip for the members. The group has been under the direction of President Shirley l-leise, Vice- President Joanne Beamer, Secretary Beverly Behrend and Treasurer Edith Nichols with the able assistance of Miss Eldred.

Jensen PRESS CLUB The Press Club, with an active membership of 20, publishes Hi-Lights, the school newspaper. Eight editions of Hi-Lights were printed this year. Proceeds from the sale of Hi-Lights are used to buy supplies for succeeding editions. ' Press Club membersvisited the Rochester Times Union building to see what goes on behind the scenes of a big newspaper. ln the fall a delegation attended the Empire State School Press Association at Syracuse University. Editor, assistant editor, and make-up editor of the paper are Dorothy I-leidemann, Carol Mann, and Mildred Helfer, respectively. Advisors of the club are Miss Dolan and Miss Eldred.

Preston FUTURE HOMEMAKERS OF AMERICA The current school year found the F. H. A. with 28 members. During the year President Betty Mills, Vice-President Marilynn Vick, Treasurer Joanne Reamer, Secretary Carol Mann, and Reporter Nancy Hawthorne directed the club program with the assistance of Miss Elaine Soltys. In October many of the girls participated in the annual cherry pie baking con- test. The winners were Dorothy Heidemann, first, Norna Akey, secondg and Shirley Brown, third. Activities of the club this year included serving for the F. F. A. Banquet, a Christmas party complete with a caroling trip, attendance at the F. H. A. Spring Rally, and a roller skating party. . , On May 18, the annual Mother and Daughter Banquet was held in the school cafeteria. Following dinner, which was served by the F. F. A. boys, the girls were entertained by two short plays, singing, and speeches.
