Yes' GOSS1p such as thls went on long ago and IS now bemg dlscussed 1n our soclology class Other lmportant toplcs dlscussed were the youthful delmquent the margmal man the crlmmal and raclal problems Such th1ngs whxch went on to make thls class more lnterestmg were problems wh1ch lnvolved the students and other people ln our own communlty But the most mterestmg of all were the days when good ol Mr Settle sprung surprlse tests on us' These tests were enjoyed lmmensely by al Plans were made to v1s1t the Dwlght Reformatory and Pontlac State Pemtentlary Everyone looked forward to th1s w1th a great deal of mterest WORLD HISTORY Thls year one of our flrst hour classes IS World Hlstory wxth Mr Settle as the lnstructor Not only dld we learn a lot about world hlstory but also current events from a paper of the same name It IS a weekly paper that most of us subscrlbed to World Hlstory IS a very good back ground subject for U S HlSt0Ty which IS requlred elther the Jumor or Semor year m order to graduate BOOKKEEPING The bookkeepmg class conslsts of seven Junlors and Semors If you were to v1s1t thxs class you would be sure to hear such terms as Journals ledgers balance sheets and of course work sheets The th1ngs learned ln this class will be very lmportant ln any f1eld of clerical work so lf that IS what you are lnterested ln you can tolerate all the ten column work sheets and other projects TYPING I At the begmnmg of the year ln Typing I we learned the keyboard Then we started takmg tlme wrxtlngs starting at 15 seconds and workmg up to 5 mmutes Next we ventured mto problems wh1ch consisted mostly of busmess letters By the end of the year we ll be able to type busmess letters ln our sleep ..... .
