Kemptona Junior Semor Prom SWEETHEART LAND The Junior Class chose May 4th as the date to honor the beniors with the Junior benlor Prom After many themes were suggested bweetheart Land was chosen Only with the help or the Junior Mothers the Banquet was made a success The menu was Tomato Juice and Ritz Crackers Baked Ham FIOZQH Peas bweet Potatoes Plneapple Ring Rolls and Butter Lemonade and Coffee Ice Cream and Wafers An enjoy able two hours weie spent by honored guests who were selxed by Freshman girls and boys The wfuters were dre sed in white shirts sl lck pants and red ribbon bow ties 'lhe waitresses caught the eyes of every white ruitles and white sleeveless blouses The outfit was completed w1th rcd and vshite waitress hats The small tables were auanged m the shape of a heart with single 1ed CdlH3t10IlS as centerpieces To make the s ttmg com plete red and white candles burned at each table A short program w ns given and THEN the Prom As couples ann eel th entered Sweetheart Land through a red and white heart The sweethearts then Journey ed on and stopped to admue the red heart revolx mg slowly m the center of the Land Sweetheait Land was surrounded by red and white streamers in the shape of tr1 angles Cummlng Combo music coming f1 om the Tunnel of Love filled the Land The many couples dancing soon need ed to be retreshed In the heart of refreshments punch and cookles were served The couples drifted back to dance and participate m the Grand March As the clock struck twelve a dieams night in bweetheart Land was ended Nothing now is left but M ijestic BIGITIOIY 3 ............... g 3 33 ..... - ......... g g 1 W D n . , n I . Kempfona .lunlor ACtlVlt1CS September 1956 the Junlor Class returned to Kempton Hlh School The flrst few weeks were fllled wlth plans for our money maklng proposltlons The flrst thmg we d1d was sell COHCGSSIOHS at the football games Later we picked up corn whlch netted us a good profit among the other thmgs we d1d to make money were the Junlor Play The Angell Brats under the dlrectlon of Mlss Allce Wllbur a paper drlve and the magazme drlve Our class sponsors were Mr Oest and Mr Settle who d1d a fme Job all year Our class offlcers were Beverlv Carlson Presldent Marllyn Clodl Vlce Presldent Dolores Lydlgsen Secretary Nancy McElwee Treasurer Jerry Vercellono Reporter Our representatlves for the Student Councll were Dolores Lydlgsen and Dlck Zanarlnl About thls tlme we began maklng plans for our thoughts were occupled w1th menus reservatlons programs orchestras and decoratlons Our J unlor Senlor Prom was the h1ghl1ght of our J unlor year and It was a great success enjoyed by the many people who attended Sophomore ACtlVltlCS The Sophomore class elected Mr Cunnlngham and MISS Wllbur as the1r sponsors We have had varlous money maklng p1OJeCtS These pro jects were plcklng up corn a number of tlmes two bake sales sell1ng basketball schedule penclls and greetmg cards We also partlclpated ln the annual magazme d11V9 We hope to h ve more successful proJects ln the future The class also had a few partles durlng the year lncludlng the Freshman 1n1t1at1on party Freshman ACtlN1tlCS In September twenty four C245 Freshmen of all shapes and sxzes lnvaded Kempton High School Later ln the year LOUISE Blshop moved from Chatsworth to Join our class After gettmg used to our classes the Sophomores thought we were gettmg too concelted On October 2nd we had the unnervlng experlence of 1n1t1at1on After g1v1ng the Sophomores a return party we settled down and had the annual magazme drlve Of course we had to get mto the act of money makmg We had several work days durlng whlch we plcked up corn Wlth that and the money from concesslon stands at the ball games we netted a nlce httle nest egg whlch we lntend to applv towards our Senlor trlp We also served at the Senlor Sweetheart Ball and we flIllSh6d the season by havmg a Skatmg Party I9 :gg ............... 33 33 ............ g.:3g.gg.3 5 7 , . . , . . , . .
