We bestow our blessings upon the faculty and for them and through them we leave. We know, they could wish for nothing more satisfactory. To the Junior Class as a whole, we do very graciously bequeath these, our finest characteristics. fAny relationship between the following and actual facts is purely coincidentalj Article Article Article Article Article Article l 2 3 4 5 6 Our ability to do our homework at all times, but in case you do not, we give you the remarkable gift we had for making split-second excuses. Vile decided you'd probably need our genius for writing term papers-so- as an afterthought-it's yours. Previous classes have willed us these traits and since we're departing, we pass them on to you in the traditionary way, sophistication, polish, bril- liance, the cooperative spirit, good manners, and love of fellowmen. They appear to be three girls, two! supporting the other who has her head tied with quite a few bandages. They burst into the office of the Chief Intern and the two girls hurriedly explained to the nurse in charge that they must see the Intern. The doctor is called, and upon en- tering and examining the girl in the injured condition he turns to the other girls and shakes his head. The two other girls look pleadingly at the doctor, and exclaim, Doc- tor, tell us what's wrong? Nothing serious we hope. The doctor replies in a sober voice, Yes, my dears, I'm afraid she has developed Futurobiaf' . The three girls are horrified, Oh, doctor! they cry, tell us what will happen. The doctor shrugs his shoulders and says, There is nothing we can do for her, she will eventually come out of it. All we can do now is just sit and wait for her to start telling our future. What, the girls exclaim. Why yes, she'll be able to tell you everything that will happen in the year her mind has lapsed to. W'ith a wondering look one of the girls says, I wonder if she could tell us where our class will be in 1970. They're graduating tonight. 'tWhy don't you ask, the doctor says. The girls ask the patient, and in a clear voice this is what she replies: I see l'w'l'LL'lLC6S Ethereclye with 37 kids . . . teaching art at Maury High School. l can see a small white object in Deuniis Uu.tlz.'rell's hand. He winds up and makes a direct shot with the bag of peanuts which is caught by his customer in the third row at the Stadium where the World Series is being played. Clwrence Jonas is pitching for the Norfolk Tars. I can see Norma F'G'I'l'6ll and E'stlLe-r Lee up to their necks in dough . . . as they're making doughnuts for their new factory which specializes in Pre-dunked Dough- nuts. lt seems if Robert Need has set the world aglow, as he has just finished a me- chanical Richard to open that door. Claudia Hmuch is in the hospital with a broken leg from trying to be too good a traveling salesman. The accident occurred when Mrs. Carlton McCustin slammed the door on him. He was trying to sell her a book on how to care for children. Incidentally Mrs. McCustin is the former Miss Kregcr. Eighteen The Class Prophecy of 1947 lcontinuedl Jem-me Ruse happens to be the practical nurse who is caring for Ulcaacliie. Ex-school Patrolman Robert Hill is now directing traffic in lllashington, D. C. At last Homcw' Pyle has worked his way up from the bottom. He is now president of Western Union. While Sally is doing the supper dishes, I can see Mevurta Wenger sitting in an easy chair reading the paper while little Wengers play around him. Jolm W'ill1iwu-is is now running a famous New York Reducing Salon. His most ardent patron is fat June St-riclclcmcl. Alva, Dewley 'is doing very well teaching Latin at Kempsville, especially to a class of all girls. Joyce Fcnlress flattered her lashes i11 the right direction for she is now working as a Power's model, in New York. I can see Cltarles Norflcet waiting in line outside a theater for the premier of Cu-ra, lflaclwzw-re's and Aucl-roy Humphries' new comedy picture. They have replaced Joan Davis and Martha Raye. It seems as if Ch'rist'i1za and Clziwrles are having a time doing their shopping and dragging their kids along with them. Betty Hoffmcm has recently opened her own Open Air Market. Marga-ret Tuwicr is making a fortune straightening out permanent waves. Robert Ilflatthews has proved definitely in his historical department at Kempsville that the reason Napoleon ret1'cated from Moscow was not because of the Russians, but because he had left his long underwear at Paris. l see Laura, Pltclps looking for a quarter that she lost a week before. Keep trying Lccmu. Jean Juclcsen and her husband, lPVcLlluac, have a splendid business. They have a peacock ranch and they sell tail feathers to fan dancers. I can see Rose Capps slaving over a hot typewriter writing short stories for the Saturday Evening Post. . I can see Jack Evans making beautiful campaign speeches and he is running for , Governor of Virginia.
