U 1 . 9 - 1 -is as t -it 9 j ' ff' Q '30 N l y 1 . , ' , 9 , ' 7 ' V 7 7 ulll HH Y One brught September day durung the year 1940 about 19 smulung boys and gurls started theur educatuon Muss Luzzue Weatherly was our teacher The furst seven years passed happuly under the durectuon of Mrs Boshart Mrs Pannell Mrs Holland Muss Betty Reasonover and Mrs Smuth The most outstanding event un our grammar school days was the receuvung of our duplomas whuch gave us a feelung of great umportance When the year of 1947 rolled around a group of excuted but happy freshmen entered the hugh school buuldung Hugh school seemed to lack some of the glory that we expected sunce we were unutuated by the sophomores and contunously kucked around by the upperclassmen Mr Cade was our freshman sponsor When we became sophomores we receuved more consuderatuon than prevuously and we could look down from a great pedestal to the lowly 9th grade and refer to them as the luttle freshmen Muss Francus Lanthrup was our sponsor 1948 advanced us to the posutuon of umportant Junuors Now we realize that there are three other perfectly good classes un hugh school but a revlew of our class actuvutues for the year wull show that we have a record of whuch we may well be proud We selected at the lurst of the year the followung ollucers Presudent Thelma Magures Secretary Nancy Vandever Treasurer Mary Funus Jeter Reporter Joyce Hardy Mrs Bullue Jean Hanna our sponsor has proved to be an excellent sponsor and also helped to make the JunuorSenuor Banquet a success We had loads of fun guuvng a short play entutled Statuon W H Y All un all we ve really had fun as Junuors and were Iookung forward to our Senuor year when we wull be the dugnufued Senuors of Kemp Hugh School . , . , .
