all 'T' Q, X, 'xxi-wfr' V' G N-Ps. JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY We have now endured our last moments as underclassmen and can look back on the pleasant times spent as such. The class of '49 started off in their freshman year in such a manner that they left no doubt in anyone's mind that they would be one of the most outstanding classes in Kemmerer high school. At first there was a battle with the upperclassmen to see if we would stay in junior high or advance to high school, but after a long, hard struggle we became full-fledged students. The job of white-washing and lighting the K before the homecoming game, fell to the fresh- men that year. The freshman hop with its Christmas tree theme, was a great success. Ending the year with a picnic, we trundled off to summer vacation. ln our sophomore year we met with the juniors in initiation. We came out with memories of lipstick, paddles, costumes, humiliation and thoughts of revenge running through our minds. Then came the sophomore ball with the theme of Harvest Time. lt turned out to be quite a struggle to get the sophomore boys to obtain dates for the affair. To end the year properly, the class of '49 put on a picnic and invited the high school. In our junior year, revenge was ours-Initiation! With thoughts of last year's initiation still fresh in our minds, we really poured it on the poor sophomores. After that is was the junior-senior party put on by the students at the club house. As it was in honor of the juniors, it was well attended. A social event of the year was the junior prom with Marilyn Head chosen as queen. It was a beautiful affair and one to be re- membered. One of our final acts as underclassmen was to throw a junior-senior party in honor of the seniors. Now, with eleven years of school behind us, we have the final and most import- ant year ahead of us, the year when 'the class of '49 becomes seniors.
