KHS Principal ls Friend to Youth and Its Aspirutions . . . Spending a quiet evening at home with his family is Kelso High School's guiding hand, Mr. Don Granholm. Seated with Mr. Granholm are his wife, Margaret, and two sons, Dean and Steve. Stevie was in the first grade this year while Dean is four years of age, This has been Mr. Granholm's fourth year as principal of Kelso High School. During this time he has gained the respect and confidence of both faculty and student body. Busy as he may be, his door is always open to anyone seeking aid or advice. Because of his keen interest in all school projects, Kelso Highs principal can be seen working right along with the students, whether it be scrubbing kettles from the concession stands or helping with plans for that big pre-game rally. We can al- ways depend on Mr. Granholm to cooperate. As student council advisor, Mr, Granholm has done much to prepare students for their future tasks. Kelso High School is known for its strong self-government-a government by which students develop faith in their own judgments and better understand a living democracy. lt is Kelso High Schools good fortune to have at its helm a person whose enduring patience, hearty cooperation, friendly attitude, and helpful guidance have combined to make it one of the best schools in the state. I am not a teacher, only a fellow-traveler of whom you asked the way. l pointed ahead-ahead of myself as well as of you. Shaw 6
