Kelso had more substantial backing from the juniors in the persons of C. Norton, L. Wheeler, B. Hansen, T. Cooley, R. Fristad, D. Peterson and D Medlock. They also had a host of other players from the 1949-50 championship B-squad. Several of the varsity players were picked for the Southwest Washington All-conference team and several more were given honorable mention. On the mythical first team we find Roy Minium playing end, Tom Gunnari playing tackle, Dick Medlock playing half back. On the second team were Dick Swanson at end and Bill Epton at tackle. Honorable mention went to Don Hansen and Cliff Richards, backs: Dave Brewer, tackle, and Ralph Fristad, center. Another fact that stands out is that Dick Medlock cinched the individual scoring title for the SW conference. Medlock scored a total of 50 points in six conference games, This is the first time that a Kelso player has won the title. Kelso was way out in front in the conference until they met Hoquiam. The Scots went on to win the Homecoming game with Lewis and Clark of Spokane, but lost the final two conference games with Vancouver and Longview. The inspirational award was presented this year to Cliff Richards. Cliff has been an in- spiration to all of his classmates as well as to the members of the football team. B SQUAD First row: Fred Yokel, mgr.g Kenaston, De Rosier, Moulton, Lincoln, Hayes, Stulgis, Dingerson. Second row: Wilson, Waddel, Nelson, Holliday, Sorenson, Mansur, Kramer, Poler. Third row: Behrend, Minium, Rismoen, Gavette, Young, Osborn, Cartwright. Fourth row: Piper, Johnston, Keegan, Edwards, Couvion, Reed, Burch.
