The extent, therefore, to which these young people develop a deep sense of respect for the great principles upon which our government is based and a feeling of personal responsibility to see that those principles are observed and maintained is of utmost importance. We hope, students, that as you turn through the pages of this book you will be reminded of the many pleasant days you spent in Kelso High School. We also sincerely hope that you will feel that through having been here you have been enabled to become better citizens, that you are more adequately prepared to take your places as useful, worthy, adult members of the community and nation.
