After membership for This honor society is open to VQJ president. president. member of the Kelly Honor Society must earn in his major subjects and G or above in his four consecutive semesters, he receives a torch. every student with the following exceptions- lack of the required grades, poor citizenship, or election to the National Honor Society, which automatically cancels his membership in the K.H.S. One of the responsibilities of this organization is to give assistance to the National Honor Society in registration season, when called upon, and to assist in other school projects on request. Several social affairs are sponsored by the group each year under direction of Miss Marie Schaack. 23

Each day the members receive cer- tain information which they present to their respective divisions. Causes which they have recently sponsored include the Civic Award Plan, Student Aid Fund, Gifts for Yanks Who Gave, Citizenship Codes, and many Charities. The 35125.00 Won in a glass breakage reduction contest was used for the purchasing of books selected by the Council. The Council also copes with students' trans- portation difficulties. Mrs. Prenderqast is the sponsor.
