We're truly seeing ourselves in them and recalling somewhat blushingly our greenness as fresh- men. We progressed a year only to find our sophomoric levity was as great a pitfall as our freshman gullibility. As juniors we often heard ourselves twitted because our little learning was a danger- ous thing. But now-ah, now We're willing to admit we don't know everything about everything. To tell the truth, we are beginning to realize how very little we know, and how very much there is to learn. You see, We're approaching Commencement. You'll be there soon, dear underclassmen. Ire ocia and geograp ical Science: The war made even the youngest child aware of faraway places. Geography study to- day shows the vital role international friend- ship plays in maintenance of world stability and peace. Acquaintance with and understand- ing of our foreign neighbors are prime requi- sites for living in the atomic age. The social sciences, through analysis of what has happened in the past, present a fairly good index of what will occur in the future. They help give students a social and political philosophy to guide their indi- vidual lives along lines conducive to domestic hap- piness and world harmony Atop her ladder Betty Heck surveys practically a world of knowledge available in Kelly's library. The Kelly High School Library can be one of the best friends a student has, but it is up to the student to learn to make it a staunch friend. Whether one looks for a biography, in- formation on a vocation or avocation, current fiction, or the best in contemporary magazines, he can find it here. High school education trains young men and women to make intelligent use of all libraries. Here is a friend that can and should be cultivated for life. 18
