Today is the end of our childhood-the principal has told us we are young men and women and we must do credit to our- selves by actually being young men and women. O February 1, 1937. We don't feel very grown up now! Was it possible that our principals had not realized they were sending us into a world more terrifying than could have been imagined in our little grammar school sphere? It is altogether differ- ent, we are really tiny, insignificant freshies, pushed around by upper classmen. And from all appearances, the teachers are either too obliging or too busy to be real pals. February, 1938. Would you believe it? We actually lived through that long year of fresh- manship. We're sophomores! Those juniors and seniors better watch out, we're coming up behind them very re- lentlessly and don't intend to let them get very far ahead of us. February, 1939. Aha! the seniors have not heeded our warning, and quietly we have slipped up on them. They will well watch their steps now that we have become estim- able junior students, for we intend to take over their offices and become friends with them, in spite of their hos- tile appearances. We've heard that Miss Larson is to be our lunior sponsor -we wonder if she will be likeable? uf--A Page 31 February, 1940. After three years of hard work, we have reached the exalted state of sen- iordom. Everybody knows us lwe think so, anywayl, We're beginning to feel respected and adult-like fthe teach- ers call it conceitl, and we have many exciting events to look forward to. Hap- pily, Miss Larson has proved to be the fulfillment of our dreams of a perfect sponsor, and she is pleasing us by again consenting to be our guiding 1ight. Following Edward Pacek, our Iunior Club president, Edward Bag- donas will exercise the duties of the 4B presidency-capably, we know. O February, 1941 . Surprisingly we are already leaving the helpful direction of Miss Larson and Miss O'Too1e, leaving the new- found friendship of Mrs. Allen. Will we succeed? Will we again lose confidence in the world now that we have left long cherished friends? We think not. We have gained a belief in ourselves and our works. We have had instilled in us a realization of our own capabilities and their advantages, and we fully intend to use this knowledge. We will not fail the teachers who faith- fully trust us to carry on Kelly's tradi- tions in the outer world, nor will we fail in ourselves to uphold the acquired concepts which, together with our forth- coming experience, will fashion our 1ife's pattern.
