Points Of Interest ...S 1. Village Pump - Built by Gus Kelley in 1890 as a combination barber shop and Post Office. The upper floor was used as a social hall. 3. Island Market - Matso's Place and the Island Market were connected at one time. The building has been used as a library, United States Express Co. in 1885, and as a silent movie hall. 5. Brown's General Store. The store was built by August Schaedler. The store was ovmed and operated by Fred Elfers. Later Frank Lange and Walter Brown owned the store. It 1S now operated by Nadine Brown. ,I 2. Matso's Place - Known as The Lodge . It was built in 1850. It was the only place on the Island where the men could meet for informal discussions or to just loaf.
