Cafeteria and janitorial staffs keep us Clean, fed and well-kept Although few of us ever think of the cafeteria and janitorial staffs, their valuable work is a part of their every day life. Without our lunch ladies, getting a hot nutritious lunch would be nearly impossible. Not only did the lunch ladies make the food, they had to sell it and wash the dishes, too. Mrs. Lucille Barritt is the director of the Keller Independent School System's lunches, This was her 28th year of devoting her time and effort to our lunches. Each lunch lady began work at 7 a.m. and was responsible for preparing individual foods. Everything was expected to be ready by first lunch. Although it is not required, dessert was also served to the students. Barritt likes the students to have a variety of foods. We all enjoy working together to make the lunches, Mrs. Loyce Franklin said. The janitors also do a very important job. Chet I-linsken has been working at Keller for eight years now and heads the entire janitorial department. Their jobs include mopping and sweeping the floors, doing lawn work and picking up whatever the students leave behind. They even stay after school until all the floors and the carpets are swept and vacuumed. - STEPHANIE CARRIER Lunch Staff - Top Row: Mary Boenisch, Monica Maide, Melody Holland.
