I'm not tardy! - Freshman English teacher Mrs. Kathy Everest walks to class prepared for another class discussion. , gf. if f 2 F A 2 , i-is 'bv' - as Hitting th books English and history students enjoy new classes Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears rang through the halls as English II classes were required to know the speech given by Antony at the burial ofjulius Caesar. While new students and teachers were added to the English and history departments this year, so were classes. Subjects provided in the English Department were Correlated Language Arts I-IV, reading and English I-IV, which were also provided as honors courses, English III and IV could also be taken as International Baccalaureate CIBJ classes. I.B. classes allowed students to take part in an internationally taught subject. In the History Department, classes provided were United States history and Free Enterprise, which were also provided as honors courses. A new course started this year was Geography, which is an 154 EnglishfHistory IB class. Among the other classes were Texas Studies, psychology, government and SAT Prep, which prepared students for college en- trance tests. New teachers admitted in the History Department were Dr. Herman Stout, Mrs. joy Perry, Coach Carey Caldwell, Ms. Pepper Joiner and Coach David Wood. The English Department added Mrs. Helen Lewis, Mrs, Francis Cooper, Mrs. Jessie Teddlie, Mrs. Nancy Fincher and Mrs. Gail Wieda. As heads of the English and History Departments, Mrs. Dorris Worsham and Mrs. Kaye Blevins acted as representatives between the teachers and the administration. Their other responsibilities in- cluded controlling the budget of each department and ordering needed materials. - SHANNON WEBB
