The need to understand was what made us give a little extra time to the subject matter both at home and at school to master the lessons. The desire to learn was what kept our eyes focused on the teacher and the blackboard - instead of on the clock. From first period to sixth, our minds encountered new concepts, old theories and dif- ferent angles - all designed to make education an experience in itself. If we didn't fully take advantage of this experience, we denied ourselves the chance to understand the world around us in ways we never felt imaginable. But, if we did take this experience, if we found the need to understand and the desire to learn - we truly captured the spirit of knowledge. The Chief fray would like to dedicate thir .rertion lo A.
