J 1 Capture the Spirit Competition The thrills and the chills, the victories and the losses gave us new insights into what competing truly was. Competing gave us the will and the drive to perform with all of our personal talents and enabled us to play the best games we could. Whether the competition was as 'llarge as our rivalry with Grapevine or as small as a scrimmage during practice, the drive to be better than our opponent always Hlled us. This feeling stayed with us through both our winning seasons and our losing seasons. lt told us that the excitement of being faced with a challenge was worth the long hours spent after school in practice. lt told us that the pulled muscles and the sweat lost on the field was worth the chance to be confronted with the physical and mental challenges the op- position offered. All this effort only proved that it made us stronger and more determined to excel in the sports Held of our choice. This, above all, was the spirit ofcompetition.
