A step ahead Students strive to make future successful Students enrolled in the vocational pro- grams of Marketing and Distributing Educa- tion and Home Economics and Career Education were a step ahead of all of us in making their future a success. M and D. Ed students learned about retail stores and basic skills in marketing. For the first time, M and D Ed students were able to operate the newly opened Trading Post which allowed students to buy school sup- plies before the bell for first period rang. The first year students were responsible for operating and stocking the Trading Post while the second year students were responsi- ble for managing and ordering merchandise. were accompanied by sponsor Mrs. Lisa Greco. HECE students participated in a half workfhalf school day. In the half day the students worked, they were involved in jobs such as being a house keeping aide, floral aide, food service management aide, ra house furnishing aide or even a teacher's aide. Requirements of HECE students included being an upperclassman with very few absences and tardies, because of the respon- sibilities they had with their co-op jobs. HECE class gives a good basic idea how to do resumes and interviews, and gives students a positive attitude toward the Total concentration - In M and D Ed, con tration never ends as senior Liz Graham gives full attention to her work.
