Students follow all safety precautions before welding, one of the machine arts of l agriculture. waltne Meat-Packing Plant Toured In pril :Xgriculture is offered at Kellam Linder the instruction of Mr. Garland Nichols and Mr. Herman Valentine. Students in this curriculum learn about such things as the principles of farm management and about such farming techniques as livestock farming. forestry. tractor driving, and the use of electric and gas welding machines. Students also take part in public speaking contests and crop judging. The Agricultural Department at Kellam. besides conducting its regular classes for high school students, also conducts classes for adults and young farmers and classes on educational televi- sion. Un the departments field trip this year to the Gwaltney meat-packing plant. students not only received instruction in judging, but also enioyed a tour of the plant as well.
