Head librarian is Mrs. Martha Gwens, assistant librarian is Mrs. Kelly George, and library secretary is Mrs. Eleanor Holland. A pilot Study Program, adopted inthe Kellam libraiy this year, was proposed by the head librar- ian, Mrs. Owens. This program is one in which a group of experimental students have access to cassette tapes and other sound-slide programs. Mrs. Martha A. Owens Head Librarian Madison Ciiollege, M. Students Circulate Petitions To Hanoi PUW-MIA Movement Has Major Effect At Kellam High School If you have not tried building a cage out of bamboo and string, don't knock it! lbelowl POW-MIA showcases such as this attracted much attention, concern, and response from students. - The POW-MIA movement which had a major effect on the country, also had a major effect on the Kellam High School student body. Many concerned students. for example, took part in the one hundred thousand signature drive by passing petitions around school. Another group of students also took part in the POW movement. Under the sponsoring of Mrs. George Owens, head librarian of Kellam High School, the student library staff also passed around petitions, made buttons, put up posters, made show cases, and definitely made the Kellam student obviously aware of the plight of the Amer- ican prisoners of war and men missing in action in Southeast Asia. Through their efforts, Kellam students took a more active part in the POW-MIA movement, and students have joined the organiza- tion with the hope that their attempts to help may result in the safe homecoming of all Americans from Southeast Asia.
