Need advice or directions? Whatever the case may be, the office personnel and Mrs. Edith Simmons, school nurse, are ready to be of assistance. Heading the office corps is Mrs. Phyllis Smith, assisted by Mrs. Betty Barrett, Mrs. Virginia Flora, Miss Mary Allen, and a group of student helpers that include Sharon St. Clair, Sandy Craft, lane Eure, Beverly Carroll, Laura Dowdy, Iessie Havens, Stephanie Wright, Ioe Pollock, Lorene Bryant, Debbie Green, Cale Falconer, Sharon Leggett, Cindy Stewart, Phyllis McClain, and Debbie Shirley. Assisting the administration, fac- ulty and students with the financial phase of the school is Mrs. Hilda Cramer. These people are responsible for many things beyond routine office work of answering phones, relaying messages, taking letters, and keeping accurate school records and reports. They also check in students who are tardy to schoolg check out those who have acceptable reasons for leaving before the day ends: register items for lost and foundg run errands of all types throughout the schoolg make announcements over the intercom: and solve a hundred and one other, seemingly in- significant but not always, problems. The major objective of the clinic is to prevent serious health problems from developing. Every year Mrs. Simmons and volunteer student helpers survey the students in physical education class to determine if any health problems do exist. This year Mrs. Simmons has the responsibility of han- dling all check-outs for doctor or dental appointments, and forwards these reports to the Virginia Beach School Board.
