Blue is for teachers who devoted unselfishly their time to students. They havebraved the school year, faced eval- uations and trends, and have made better people out of everyone for it. They were the running thread that kept the seam of the school bound together.

Mrs. Wenclelin, Mr. Stahlin, and Barry Bradberry, help Mr. Davis pass some time with a lively dist USSIUII. Mr. Davis does work. Follows Current Trends Davis Views Students As Individuals And Not As A Student Group While walking through the halls of Kellam, if you should happen to pass a tall, slender man with a friendly smile on his face and a ready greeting, you passed Kellam's principal, Mr. lefferson Davis. One of Mr. Davis' attributes that makes him an unforgettable character is the fact that he looks upon his student body as a group of individuals, not as a student group. His door is always open to any student who wishes to speak with him. A native of the Tidewater area, Mr. Davis attended Norfolk High School where he was a halfback on the football team as well as center on the basketball team. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Elon College, and his Master of Arts from the College of William and Mary. The Purple Heart and the Air Medal were awarded to him for his heroic services during World War II. Before becoming head ofthe faculty and student body at Kellam High School nine years ago, Mr. Davis was a teacher at Kempsville and Princess Anne High School, assistant principal of Oceana High School, and principal of Woodstock Elemen- tary School.
