arsity Cheerleaders Promote Spirit Varsity Cheerleaders sponsored by Miss Mary Kay Lucas, were headed this year by captain Shell Purvis and tio-captain Ioan Shearin. This group of dedicated girls ht-lpetl to promote spirit and enthusiasm at all varsity football and basketball games. The varsity cheerleaders devoted a deal of their time encouraging the team by wrapping goal posts at home games, selling spirit ribbons. and holding stimulating pep rallies before all varsity football games. These things exemplify just a few ways the varsity cheerleaders supported the team with school spirit. Shell and her squad also provided dinners in the cafe- teria before each game for the football and basketball game. and they gave to the team a cake at every pep rally. Besides cheering at varsity football and basketball games. the cheerleaders also supported the wrestling and baseball teams. ,Q fu J, :sg . l 9 AO L, 1 . ' , A .
