Year's Productions Include 0ur Town and iracle Worker Kellam Drama Club members provided Kellam students, parents, faculty, and others with a variety of dramatic entertainment this 1970-71 school year. Their agenda of dramatic entertainment included Thorton Wilder'S Our Town , the senior play, Love Comes in Many Colors , and The Miracle Worker , the spring play. Drama Club members participated in several festivals this year. If Men Played Cards as Women Do was the Kellam entry at the District One-Act Play Festival. They also attended the Fine Arts Festival at First Colonial, and the Shakespearean Festival at Kempsville. The Kelly Awards Banquet, a joint Thespian-Drama Club activity, was the high point of an entertaining year for the Drama Club members. President of this year's Drama Club was Ted Evans. Vice- president was Rick Shurtzg secretary, Debbie Green: Treasurer, Tom Currie: sponsor, Miss Rhett Pridgen. Emily Webb's marriage to George Gibbs was the highlight of Our Town for those who saw the Wilder play. ll-Hi

Elementary School Visits And Collegiate Observations Promote Interest For Future Teachers Of merica Angel Zeppieri guided the Future Teachers of America through an eventful and rewarding year as president of the Future Teachers Club. With the help of Mrs. Anne Williams, their sponsor, Future Teach- ers of America fulfilled their function of exploring the possibilities of teaching as a career by participating in numerous service projects. During the year, members of the Future Teachers of 1, -W5 America supported their club through various activi- ties, but primarily through the successful stationery sale. ln October, for Halloween, the Future Teachers Club put smiles on the faces of many teachers with their favors made especially for Kellam teachers. Teachers at Kellam were not the only ones favored by the Future Teachers Club. The members also put their resources toward providing a Christmas basket for a needy family. Members of Future Teachers of America were often seen cheerfully boarding buses that took them to ele- mentary schools for visits and to colleges to observe and hear noted speakers. An installation of new memhers was held at the end of the year when the annual Kelly Awards and tht Thespians Awards were presented.
