Future urses Visit DePaul And orfolk General Hospitals The Future Nurses of America, this year, participated in open houses at DePaul and Norfolk General hospitals. They also had Barbara Beekma. a medical technologist from Norfolk General Hospital, come to speak to them, as well as a Future-Nurse-of-the-Year speaker. During the year, the Future Nurses of America worked, through many sales projects, towards giving a S100 scholar- ship to a graduating senior. They sold peanuts, decals and mugs at Homecoming, and they held doughnut sales and car washes. The purpose of the Future Nurses of America was also supported by publicity they provided for Cancer Week. To create an understanding of nursing and its opportunities, and to increase the awareness of how one develops mentally, physically, and spiritually so that optional health may be expanded throughout the home, school, and com- munities are the properties that make up the purpose of the Future Nurses of America. Officers this year were: president, Linda Utleyg vice- president, Cheryl Connelyg secretary-treasurer, Saundra Balicky: and reporter-historian, Valerie Iones.
