Members of the 1971 Tennis Team are, from left to G Anderson, Richard Crouch, Brett Clarke, limmy Hayward, David Howard, Chris Iude, and Mike Kane. right, ary -I Iude And Howard Represent Team In District nd Kellam's tennis team, under the direction of Mr. Mitchell and Mr. Woodruff, ended the '71 season with a 3-7 record, the best record ever in Kellam tennis history. The tennis team also scored this year, for the first time ever, against Granby. Strongest competitors on the team were seniors Chris Iude and David Howard. Iude and Howard represented Kellam this year in singles competition at the District and State tournaments. In doubles competition, Kellam was also represented by David Howard and Richard Crouch, the first doubles team, and by Chris Iude and Gary Anderson, the second doubles team. Commenting on the team's performance during the past year, Coach Woodruff said the team showed great improvement and named team members Mike Kane and Mike Swindell as the most improved. Woodruff also commented that he is looking forward to a stronger team in 1972 with more improvement in the tenth and eleventh grades and more desire on the part of the team. - I!
