'T' Kellam's 1971 boy's gymnastics team, coached by Mr. Richard Perceful posted a 2-3 record for the season, losing to Kempsville, and in a tri-meet, to South Hampton. Superior team members this year were David Hawkins, lim Horne, co-captain Craig Davis, and captain Tom Leahy. Hawkins and Horne excelled on the side horse, and Davis in floor exercises, in horizontal bar, and in longhorse vaulting. Davis placed fifth on the trampoline and Leahy twelfth on the parallel bars at the state meet last year. In order to compete in the state meet, gymnasts from this area must place at least fifth in their event at the Eastern District Elimination Meet. These high qualifications necessary in order to compete in the state meet show the high degree of excellence that gymnasts Torn Leahy and Craig fi I X 9x Q. i db Davis have worked for and attained.
