Kellam Knights ended a disappointing season with injuries and mistakes as common factors in their losses. Through the spirit and leadership of Iohn Sachon, Herb Scott, and Bob Hockman, tri-captains, they were able to obtain two wins out of the last four games: a homecoming victory over Cox, and an upsetting victory over highly ranked Great Bridge. The 1970-71 season was not a total loss for underclassmen Mike Deiulio, Dave Marquette, Tom Currin, Chuck Edwards, Wade Morse, and Joe Shray, showed potential and gained valuable experience which should benefit next year's team. Special recognition was owed this years' out- standing defensive players - Howard Holzmacher, Herb Scott, Iohn Sachon, and Charlie Foreman, and to Freddie Evans who aided the. team with his accurate punting.
