Second Row: Susan Kellam, secretary and Renee Shirley, treasurer. 170 Being new to a large school like Floyd E. Kellam was found to be quite a challenge to the eighth grade this year. Activities were slow for the group as they concentrated on adjusting themselves to the new schedules and surroundings, finding new leaders for the year to come and on understanding different courses of instruction. The class has good leaders and I believe they will go a long way, said Mr. Elgia Easter, the eighth grade sponsor. He was quite confident that the class would have a bright future. Officers were nffb- president Nina Haubold, vice-president Sarah Malbon, secretary Susan Kellam, and treasurer Renee Shirley. In February the eighth grade class sponsored a Ielly Bean Count Contest. Due to the fact that they were so-o-o-o-o tempting, the jelly beans were gone before a winner could be announced!
