PANTHER ’66 KEESE VILLE CENTRAL SCHOOL We, the Senior Class of 1966, feel that the '66 Panther is an indication of our achievements and abilities. Knowledge, key to the future, the theme of our yearbook, has helped us to attain our primary goals and what we feel are worthwhile accomplishments. It is our sincere hope that these accomplishments may serve as an incentive to future classes Dedication With utmost respect and deepest appreciation, we. the Class of 1966, dedicate this 66 Panther to you for your years of service and guidance to the students of Keeseville Central. Mrs. Gray. Mrs. Long We deeply appreciate the time and assistance devoted to the Class of '66 by our Class Adviser, Mrs. Gray, our Senior Play director, Mrs. Long, and our Yearbook Adviser, Mrs. Clute. Without their assistance these and the many other projects with which they have helped us, could never have been successful. THANK-YOU: Mrs. Long, for your patience and understanding and for the time and preparation which you spent in helping us to produce our Senior Play, Kind Lady. Endless re- hearsals, constant memorization of lines, and finally - opening night! You have made these memories possible and for this we are most grateful. Mrs. Gray, for your time and energy, yourdiligence and perseverance. It is to you that we owe the success of our Junior Prom, our Senior Ball, the many fund-rais- ing activities through which we have struggled, and the numerous other class projects which we have under- taken. You have helped to make our high school years memorable and enjoyable ones, and you will always re- main our constant friend and adviser. Mrs. Clute, for generously devoting so much of your time and energy in helping us to make our 1966 Panther the success we hope it is. Your cheerfulness and good nature were a driving force in helping us to meet our final deadline. Last minute corrections, re- vising pages - at times we were in doubt as to how we would ever complete our tedious tasks! When our final deadline arrived, it was to you that we turned to ex- press our deepest thanks and appreciation for helping us to make our 1966 Panther such an unforgettable memory. Dolores Mousseau Marguerite King MARILYN CLUTE was chosen by you, the subscribers of the 1966 PANTHER, to reign at our Senior Ball, Mistletoe Holly on December 18, 1965 Yearbook Queen and Court Sheila Doyle Judy Earle Junior Prom Royalty Weeks of preparation and hard work were finally culminated when the doors were opened to our Junior Prom, Shangri-la , on May 29, 1965. Industrious Juniors had spent much of their spare time in the midst of yards of pink cheesecloth and hundreds of sparkling butterflies and flowers. At last the big day arrived when we succeed in transforming our gym in- to a mystical Japanese garden, and it was then we realized that our efforts had certainly been worth- while. The event was highlighted with the crown- ing of our king and queen. Jack Lattrell and Julie McNierney. These memories of Shangri-la will long be remembered by all. Conley, Coach Holdridge FOOTBALL The 1966 football team ended with a 1-7 record but several of the games were close and could easily have been won. Next year's team will be spearheaded by a fine group of returning lettermen and should place Keeseville in the football limelight. BASKETBALL The 1965-66 basketball team ended the season with a 2-15 record. The loss by graduation of several lettermen was keenly felt this year. Despite the disappointing record, the team gave it's all in every game. The boys are to be congratulated for their Never-say-Die spirit. BASEBALL The 1966 baseball team is somewhat of a question mark. The pitching and out- field should be adequate but the infield remains a puzzle with several of last year's let- termen graduating. If adequate catching and a good second bass-short stop combina- tion can be found, this year's team could be one of our best. WRESTLING The Keeseville wrestling team ended the 1965-66 season in Third Place with a 7- 4 and 1 record. Two of the wrestlers, Colin Arthur were undefeated. These two same wrestlers and Wayne Bleau were successful in winning the Section Seven Tournament in their weight classes. The team placed second in this Tournament. The team is looking to improving and doing better next season. CHEERING Chosen last spring, both the J.V. and Varsity Cheerleaders returned, with new out- fits, in the fall of '65 to cheer their teams to victory! Many new cheers, chants and mounts marked the originality of the Panthers Cheerleaders. Ehthusiastic and full of pep, they kept alive the spirit of the never-say-die Panther football and Basketball squads. GIRLS' SPORTS CLUB The Girls1 Sports Club was quite fortunate this year have Mrs. Mary Goad as their adviser. An active intramural and playday program was a result of the enthusiastic co- operation of the girls. The Sports Club wishes to thank the members of the faculty and student body who helped make it a successful organization Mixed Chorus (1-r) 1. f. West, J. McNeirney, D. Mousseau, V. Zeno, M.
