CLASS OF ’61 2 FOREWORD The period in which we live and of our graduation from school offers a privilege for service to any person who is well prepared. May we think of the years spent at Keeseville Central School as the initial period in this preparation for the opportunities that lie before us. Through our continued sacrifices and with a determined effort to achieve perfection in our select- ed vocations, we may help our community to find a solution to many of its perplexing problems. Now the time has come for us to part. As we leave these portals of Keeseville Central School, we leave behind the cherished memories that have endeared our Alma Mater to us. As we move on to blaze new trails, may we stop and cherish those memories once again through the activities and organizations that helped us to establish them. This yearbook we offer to the 1961 graduating class of Keeseville Central School. Many years from now we may want to relive those days spent at Our Dear Alma Mater. CONTENTS ADMINISTRATION SOPHOMORES FACULTY FRESHMEN OTHER SCHOOL PERSONNEL JUNIOR HIGH SENIORS ELEMENTARY FACULTY JUNIORS GRADES ACTIVITIES 4 IN MEMORIAM We, the 1961 Panther Staff, dedicate this yearbook to Antoine Lesperance in appreciation of his many years of service to this school and to this community. His untimely passing was a great loss. As Thomas Jefferson said, One may succeed him, but 5 none will replace him. BOARD OF EDUCATION F. Finnegan R. Lesperance J. Boland W. Cohen D. S. there is less, Any number-you could guess, Of students here reknow, Who with the wind have flown. By PETER WEST Now the tutors of sixty-one, From the hearts of these gals and guys Will never be lost or gone, We considered them all most wise. For, our problems, we all had Were solved by them, we're glad. They never shunned their duty, And were always on the spot. Though of ten they were moody, They helped us all a lot 1 And when in trouble we were, They, to comfort us, were there. So together we proclaim Each 'teach' by age and name, As the best we could have had For each of us, (lass and lad). And together we say this, Each class and 'teach', we'll miss. THE SENIOR BABIES Who's the doll wearingbrown and white oxfords? Could it be that Cassidy fellow? asks Bubbles Ford. Must be, answers Waterboy McKee. At that moment Baldy King, with an envious look, sees Hairy Kelly. Freckles Eisen, disturbed from her mudpies asks Hot-Rod Jarvis, What's up? Hearing this, Diapers Goff enters the picture by saying, It's whats up front that counts! Smily Mussen thinks it’s pretty funny and asks Sour Soulia and Crusin' Busha to chuckle too. Playpen Bracken looks over and compares Sober LaChance's cool threads with Sassy LaBounty's hot threads; after giving them a good once over , she decides that there's nothing like a good curly head of hair that doesn’t even need nightly pin-ups ! Hearing this, Curly Hanby disagrees because she personally adores Lover Boy Pfohler's Hollywood haircut. While this rumble jumble is going on,Dollface Santor is quietly munching away on what seems to be her fingers. Sour Puss Roy im- mediately warns her that if she continues her biting, there will be a fungus among'st us . Not bo- thered by this affair, Speedy Arnold confidentially tells Pokey Oliver that she gets a big bang out of Bangs Belzil. Since she has no bangs, Creeping Chamberlain creeps shyly away. While all this is happening, Model Buckley is posing to get in good with Toothless Walker. Mean- while, Hound-Dog Earl is trying to get Legs Boprey down off the car to come and play with his hounds and him. They'd better play quietly so that they won’t disturb Sleepy McNierney or frighten Bash- ful Sullivan. Playboy Hamlin says, Well, this is the end! By Rocky and her friends Ydnas” Eigram Nnaoj , • V
