70e4fwmc'adedofZ4e4e6pe4e4de2ll0w4 PRESlDENT'S MESSAGE Better Unborn Than U ntaughf' I -HEYWOOD, 1546 Classmates: Here we stand on the threshold of service not only to our students but also to our distinguished predecessors. They have constructed, remolded, and lengthened the road of education, without upheavals and crevices, that we must follow: this road surrounds the earth. We must and shall follow this path but it shall be our duty to continue their work and the responsibility lies with us to begin this road on its journey around the universe. The world is too small for man therefore his quest for education and learn- ing is growing larger. We must be prepared for this expansion so we won't fall behind. It will be up to us, the youthful teachers of today's children, tomorrow's parents and future leaders of state, world and universal organizations, to mold the minds, manners, and morals of our students who will spread to all ends of the universe. The schoolroom of today is the testing ground of to- morrow's scientists, businessmen and governmental officials. During our stay at Keene Teachers College we have received the basic essentials to carry out this task set before us. We have been instructed and advised that time changes, but unless we are prepared, theories, ideals, and practices will not be revised at similar speeds. If we are to accept the full responsibility of teaching we must always be cautiously alerted for these changes so that mankind will reap the full harvest Kala! W fffflwv CLASS OF 1958 of our service.
