They have constructed, remolded, and lengthened the road of education, without upheavals and crevices, that we must follow: this road surrounds the earth. We must and shall follow this path but it shall be our duty to continue their work and the responsibility lies with us to begin this road on its journey around the universe. The world is too small for man therefore his quest for education and learn- ing is growing larger. We must be prepared for this expansion so we won't fall behind. It will be up to us, the youthful teachers of today's children, tomorrow's parents and future leaders of state, world and universal organizations, to mold the minds, manners, and morals of our students who will spread to all ends of the universe. The schoolroom of today is the testing ground of to- morrow's scientists, businessmen and governmental officials. During our stay at Keene Teachers College we have received the basic essentials to carry out this task set before us. We have been instructed and advised that time changes, but unless we are prepared, theories, ideals, and practices will not be revised at similar speeds. If we are to accept the full responsibility of teaching we must always be cautiously alerted for these changes so that mankind will reap the full harvest Kala! After four years you have come to the point of graduation with the knowledge, education, tools, and equipment that teachers need for guiding the children of today toward future leadership. All of you should not forget the time and work that our instructors have spent in guiding you with your problems, either sedate or frivolous, and all that you have gained from their aid to you. You have all had important ex- periences here and now you are going out into the field to broaden them still more. Remember: we are living in an age of challenge. Yours is the greatest challenge of all. Helping the children of America prepare for future leader- ship and to create of ourselves leaders who are able to scrutinize problems, good or bad, with a democratic point of view. J ohn Wondolowski Alpha Pi Tau Fraternity began a very active and happy year on campus by moving back into its house after nearly two years of absence from it. Sponsoring Alan Cutler as Speedy Alpha-Seltzer in the Mayorality Campaign kept the Alpha brothers busy through the fall. Almost immediately attention was focused on improving the college campus, which for the past years has been a project of Alpha. Hard work strengthened by brotherhood was shown by the remodeling of Alpha House which was followed by a successful open house. The Christmas Party, an annual affair of Alpha, was attended in a large number by both Fraternity men and guests. The annual Alpha Opera was, as always, a terrific success. Rush and Help Week were successfully enjoyed by both the olcl and new men who added energy to the Fraternity. The formal, a highlight of the year, was centered around the Zodiac. Alpha enjoyed its 34th consecutive year of service, academically and socially, on the Keene Teachers College campus. mndedoatle 'ecenef in ..,A-4' M ..........,fQ ,..,,.,.,,,,,, Y f -. , 5 'L FIRST ROW: John Callivn, John Wondolowski, Dalton Blodgvtl, Robert Cnttvr. ANNIVERSARY WALTZ At eight o'clock sharp on December 17, the curtain went up on one of the most outstanding entertain- ment presentations of the year. Direct from a long run on Broadway, Aniversary Waltz by Chadorare and Fields was a tremendous success here on cam- pus, both with the faculty and the student body. A three-act comedy, it said some smart, sophis- ticated things about modern marriage, progressive education, and television. Lead roles were filled by Thomas Padden and Karen Clark. Cast included: C. W. Stevens, Verna Erwin, Karen Hendrikson, Robert Williams, and Kay Day. Again general campus opinion affords us the lib- erty of saying, '4Best Play in Years! 74eaeze'ana,g4,ud6-xytdaz , awed. . It is the year 1958 which marks the beginning of a large scale building program which, in the course of the next ten years, will make K.T.C. one of the largest Teachers Colleges in New England. In the next few pages we have tried to depict the various changes that will occur including how, our campus will look ten years from now and what some of the buildings will look like. At this time we would like to express our gratitude to President Young, Mr. Holbrook, the architect, and the state of New Hampshire whose able assistance made this section possible.
