“
TAHAWUS I am tallest of the mountains where the many mountains rise I am Cleaver of the Cloudland and the Splitter of the Skies I am keeper of the caverns where the God of Thunder sleeps I am older than the waters that once hid me in their deeps. For the eyes I hold the visions of the things that make men whole Of the woodlands and the waters that can whisper to the soul. In the winter robed In whiteness. In the summer garbed In green, I am warden of the wonders of an ever shifting scene. I am guardian of the goblet that is filled wi th hopes of life For the weary and the broken, and the wounded In the strife; And I offer them the freedom of my great cathedral shrine. With its sanctity of silence and Its fragrance of the pine. For I crave to be the symbol of the strength that won the fight Of the spirit of the heroes who fell battling for the right. For those dead, who died to save us, let me say eternal mass. And be God's volcanic voicing of the words: They shall not pass! 1 DEDICATION Keene Central lost '84 Graduate Doreen McDonough in a tragic automobile accident this fall. How do you tell about one who had such a short time among us. Perhaps a way is to look back at the Senior Class Poll . She was voted Best Dressed, Most Sophisticated, Most Romantic, Best Athlete, Best Looking, Best Natured, and Best Mannered. These are the things you find in yearbooks and laugh about in later years. They are also the things that give you an idea of how Doreen's friends felt about her. Doreen was active in many school activities. She was a dedicated participant in sports, playing soccer, basketball, volleyball and softball. Doreen was given the Coaches Award in softball twice and received the Outstanding Senior Girl Athlete award at graduation. She was a team player who always believed the day would come when the KCS' Girls' Teams would overcome all foes. Doreen performed in school musicals. She was a member of Student Council and on the Yearbook staff. She was a cheerleader and a member of rifle club. Doreen also won academic awards in business, math and typing. She was a well-rounded student. Doreen was the kind of student who makes KCS a great school. But who was Doreen? She was witty and pouty, carefree and tempermental, dependable and unpredictable, she was a paradox - a teenager. She was warm and loving and she was taken from us too soon. Doreen will be missed. Weil all cherish the memories of the little girl with blue rimmed glasses too big for her, through the years to the beautiful woman she had become. Doreen will be missed. 2 Administration Mr. Alan Macnab Administrative Assistant Mr. John Stewart Superintendent of Schools Board of Education Mr. Fred Warner Mr. Paul Uincent Mrs. Carolyn Fish Mrs. Margaret Sheldon Mrs. Lora Edmonds 3 Administrative Staff 4 Eus Er i ver Cus t cdi ans J w- -“ Gerry Smith Henry U i ncent Jerry Shuknecht 5 FACULTY Mrs. Conni Cross Kindergarten Mrs. Mary Jaques First Grade Mrs. Brigitte Wagner Second Grade Mrs. Karen Hooper Mrs. Charlotte Llchtenberg Mr. Ron Konowitz Third Grade Fourth Grade Fifth Grade 6 Mrs. Ann Hartson Speech 8.
