Memoriam Wilbur Edmonds, son of Raymond and Lena, was born, reared, schooled (except for college), and employed in this commu- nity. In 1937-1938, we called him twinkle-toes (he was a great dancer). Wilbur made his living at K.C.S. as a Business Education teacher for ten years and then went with IBM. We will all miss Wib as he was affectionately known. Ernie Kelley was a graduate of K.C.S. who spent 20 years of his life serving the com- munity in the capacity of a bus driver custo- dian at Keene Central. Ernie was an active member of this commu- nity who will certain- ly live on in the minds of those who knew him. Hannibal Edmonds, a native born son, came to K.C.S. on a sum- mer lend-lease cus- todial job. He made such a hit we kept him for 10 years, part of the time as a bus driver and majority of the time as a custodian. He was an outdoorsman, well-liked by every- one. His passing will leave a void in the hearts of many. Mae Broe came to this area from Conn- ecticut quite some years ago. She started as an elementary teacher in the then Keene school and trans- ferred to Keene Valley in 1937. She was a devoted, respected tea- cher for thirty years. Her involve- ment in community activities is remem- bered by many. Mae will be greatly missed. 2
