“The time is April 31, 1967. The place is the State Education Building in Albany. AND YOU ARE THERE! Do you recognize that drab woman in the horn-rimmed glasses? The years haven't been kind to her. She was and STILL is MISS Carolyn Hickey. She was called here to conduct a survey on the efficiency of small public schools. A year ago the Federal Government took control over all schools and how some must be weeded out. Carolyn's job is to find out if Keene Central is incompentent. Now we shall switch to Carolyr for her report on the proceedings. Hello! I have been chosen to make this survey because the class of 1957 from Keene Central School was chosen by the present seniors of '67 as an average class. My job is to interview my classmates and to see how Keene Central affected their success. I, individually, was selected because I am the only member of my class now residing in the United States. Now we shall follow Carolyn to that foggy land, dear England. We find her having tea at an old English manor with a carefree lady and a tall elegant gentelman. Let's eavesdrop on them. Do tell me, Malcolm, how you and your wife, Rachel, came to take up residence in this charming country. You see I was stationed here v’hile in the Air Force and I enjoyed it so much I had to make it Rachel's and my home, i-he fishing here isn't too bad, you know. Where is your next stop on this survey? I am thinking of Paris—Kathleen lives there now. Oh, how nice! Rachel and I are leaving tomorrow for the Annual Paris Dog Show, where we are showing our two wolfhounds. Perhaps you would like to accompany us in our plane. We now fly across the blue Atlantic to Gay Paree, where we find Caroly-stepping into a sleek Jaguar at the airport, sent by Kathleen. Why, Petei You and Katy---------? Oh, noi I'm the chauffeur for her small garage of sports cars - only twelve. Carolyn is now entering Madame Toussand's Beauty Salon, Specialists in Hair Tinting. Madame Toussand is of course the former Kathleen McCourt. Oh, I am so glad to see you, Carolyn dear. I am on my way to an important fashion show; won't you come along? Oh, by the way, this is my husband, Jacques, you know the winner of last year's Le Mans Race, , . , , . Well, I'll go, but you know that I am not interested in fashions. It will do you good REALLY dear!
