The place is the State Education Building in Albany. AND YOU ARE THERE! Do you recognize that drab woman in the horn-rimmed glasses? The years haven't been kind to her. She was and STILL is MISS Carolyn Hickey. She was called here to conduct a survey on the efficiency of small public schools. A year ago the Federal Government took control over all schools and how some must be weeded out. Carolyn's job is to find out if Keene Central is incompentent. Now we shall switch to Carolyr for her report on the proceedings. Hello! I have been chosen to make this survey because the class of 1957 from Keene Central School was chosen by the present seniors of '67 as an average class. My job is to interview my classmates and to see how Keene Central affected their success. I, individually, was selected because I am the only member of my class now residing in the United States. Now we shall follow Carolyn to that foggy land, dear England. We find her having tea at an old English manor with a carefree lady and a tall elegant gentelman. Let's eavesdrop on them. Do tell me, Malcolm, how you and your wife, Rachel, came to take up residence in this charming country. You see I was stationed here v’hile in the Air Force and I enjoyed it so much I had to make it Rachel's and my home, i-he fishing here isn't too bad, you know. Where is your next stop on this survey? I am thinking of Paris—Kathleen lives there now. Oh, how nice! Rachel and I are leaving tomorrow for the Annual Paris Dog Show, where we are showing our two wolfhounds. Perhaps you would like to accompany us in our plane. We now fly across the blue Atlantic to Gay Paree, where we find Caroly-stepping into a sleek Jaguar at the airport, sent by Kathleen. Why, Petei You and Katy---------? Oh, noi I'm the chauffeur for her small garage of sports cars - only twelve. Carolyn is now entering Madame Toussand's Beauty Salon, Specialists in Hair Tinting. Madame Toussand is of course the former Kathleen McCourt. Oh, I am so glad to see you, Carolyn dear. I am on my way to an important fashion show; won't you come along? Oh, by the way, this is my husband, Jacques, you know the winner of last year's Le Mans Race, , . , , . Well, I'll go, but you know that I am not interested in fashions. It will do you good REALLY dear! We see them at Givenchy's Exclusive Fashion Show. Amidst the array of fashions appears a handsome man skillfully posing the beautiful models for a series of fashion photos. Carolyn appears to have immediately recognized this highly successful, and popular young man and is walking towards him. Let's find out who he is. Why, Ronnie Purdy, imagine finding you in Paris. You haven't changed a bit, still surrounded by women, I see! How did you ever get into this profession? I guess it was all the experience which I gained in the girls' Sewing Class, which got me started in the fashion field. Mrs. Huchro got me this job with Mademoiselle magazine. By the way, the Huchros are coming to Paris sometime this week. I got a short note yesterday. They will be looking for a proper school for their three older children. The twins aren't old enough for school yet. Kathleen, joining them says, Won't that be quite expensive? Yes, but you must have heard about how brilliant Mr. Huchro proved to be on the TV QUIZ SHOW, Come Get It , where he won quite a sum of money for knowing the location of the Isles of Langerhan. Now viewing the Left Bank of the Seine, we see Carolyn speaking to a slim, blonde woman dressed in very modernistic clothing. She appears to be very Boheminan. Bonjour, Carolyn: How did you know I was in Paris? Ronnie told me where you lived and about your success as an artist. We are planning to have a class reunion. You will be able to come, of course, I guess I can make it although I've been very busy lately with my lectures on EMPATHY)! replied our quiet classmate, Lorraine. At the same time we see a home in the beautiful Swiss Alps where a rather familiar jolly woman is busily reading a letter. Her husband appears and we recognize him as the Winter Olympic Star in skiing. At the i960 Olympics in Italy, this still pleasant looking woman met her extremely handsome husband. We hear him telling her, Dear, you must go and enjoy yourself with your classmates at the reunion, seeing that you were unable to have it five years ago. I shall take care of our seven little darlings. . ,, . . , Yes, you guessed right. That was the former Hope Ann ashbond, a happily married wife and mother. We now take you to the class of 1957 reunion from Keene Central School at La Belle Jeu in Paris. Isn't that Ronnie driving up in that lavendar Cadillac? But, who is that striking blonde next to him? Why!:!!: It's Carolyn Hickey. What has happened to her? Kathleen must have gotten hold of heri Wow: Ooo-la-la--la! ! Red always DID look good on her. Madame Toussand really gave her a complete change. Let's go inside now. It looks as though they are waiting for someone. It must be Martha as she hasn't arrived yet. Shall we eavesdrop again on Malcolm? Yes, Martha has really been busy these past years. She is Head of the French Division of the Red Cross. Her private life has been well........you might say active Her first marriage was to Count Redford. He died, you know, in that tragic accident. Some say it was suicide. Her second husband was that Italian playboy, Julius De Gama. He also died. Accidental fall, did you say? Well, no one is really sure; but you know what they're saying around the social circles. Her third husband, an American millionaire, Ferdinand Gish, is supposed to come here with her tonight. All of a sudden everyone is enveloped in a strange silence as a woman, dressed in a very stylish black dress with a large pink rose at her waist, comes bovineing in twirling the long beads dangling around her neck. Oh, HI EVERYBODY!i Sorry I'm late, but I did have to attend the funeral of poor dear Ferdy. Hope, astonished says, You mean you've lost another husband? Oh, yes! I do seem to have bad luck or perhaps you could say I bring bad luck. But I always say why cry over spilled milk. On with the festivities! This reunion seems to be very successful so let's say AU REVOIR to GAY PAREE. What will the outcome be? Will Carolyn's report on the Seniors of '57 be proof of the school's efficiency or incompetence? Will the dear old Alma Mater survive or will it be abandoned? It is up to you to decide, for YOU WERE THERE!i! WHO AM I ? I have a great desire to marry a millionaire and to own a red Buick convertible. That should be enough, but, if not, I am eighteen and an ardent Dodger fan. Who am I? This year I have been a frustrated person. I'Ve searched the state for colleges and men. My age? Eighteen. My ambition? Beware, here I come! My birthday? February 21, 1939 Who am I? You tell me! I'm Schabod II, seventeen year old version. I was born in the sleepy hollow of Keene Valley on January 22, 19 0. I have lived in Keene most of my life. Who am I? I was born in Keene Valley on April l J-, 19 0. After living in Keene for several years I moved to Florida where the sun really went to my head. I'm sure you must know whom the boys call Red . Who am I? My talents resemble those of Grandma Moses. My home is far from school. My age is seventeen, my hair is blonde, my eyes are blue. I'll bet you know my name — guess who!i i 5 2 Lucky me, I moved to Keene when I was seven. I started runn- ing away from school the day I arrived and have been ever since. I may be short, not too tall, but I've got something on the ball (women). Who am I? I've been called C - - - - -(oops I almost slipped!) and S-----(there I go again!), but I have a real name and don't mind the nicknames at all 'cause I figure Sticks and 'stones' may break my bones, but names will never hurt me. I'm the baby in this class of grandmothers and am a Keene Valleyite through and through. Who am I? 0,-1L y1 ■) 'l DOCTOR' iX' X 13 1 }'! A RTH to y j' or Q, ? s o. Vs 447
